Raise an independent baby, and become a more confident parent
A handbook for parents with children aged 0-2 who want to encourage their baby's independence from birth.
Does any of this sound familiar?
Mealtimes feel like an endless source of stress. Your baby refuses to touch their food, makes a huge mess or turns their head away.
You spend 30 to 45 minutes carefully rocking, patting, or bouncing your baby to sleep, only for their eyes to pop wide open the exact second their body touches the mattress.
You can’t even go to the bathroom for two minutes without your baby crying or needing to be carried constantly, leaving you feeling physically drained and touched-out.
Your body goes straight into "fight-or-flight" the moment you hear your baby cry, triggering an urgent internal panic that you need to stop the crying immediately.
You lack a predictable rhythm, yet every single day feels like groundhog day, leaving you feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and completely running on empty.
You want to encourage your baby to be independent, but with all the noise and conflicting advice online, you just don't know where or how to start.
What if there was a way to see a positive change in your parenting right away?

Hi, I’m Valerie…
A parent educator, primary school teacher, content creator and mumma to two beautiful little humans, Maddie and Ollie.
I wrote this guide because I wanted parents to have a realistic guide to encouraging independence from birth. I share snippets of my journey of how I supported my own children's independence. My goal is to help parents shift away from parenting from a place of anxiety and uncertainty, to a place of trust. Because when we realise just how capable our babies are from day one, parenting gets easier!
